In this post we are going to discuss the following:

  • Daytime aligners
  • Nighttime aligners
  • Things you should consider when choosing aligners
  • The difference between day time aligners and night time aligners
  • How to choose aligners based on your lifestyle needs

Daytime aligners

Daytime aligners are otherwise known as clear aligners and must be worn for around 22 hours a day to work. With the help of modern-day technology, you can achieve straighter teeth and a beautiful smile in a short amount of time.

How much do clear aligners cost?

We realise how important it is for you to achieve your perfect smile, which is why we make our clear aligners affordable no matter what your circumstances are. Everyone’s budget will be different, but our low prices are guaranteed to put a smile on your face.

Like you would with any other dental procedure, you need to think about if it fits in with your budget. Clear aligners are custom-made which makes them slightly more expensive,  so you need to make sure you can afford to go ahead with the process before committing to them.

We offer two payment options; the SmileAdvantage and the SmileFlex Easy. With the SmileAdvantage plan, you will receive an impression kit, clear aligners, and a set of retainers for £1199. This is our most affordable option and is a one-time payment. With our SmileFlex Easy plan, you receive an impression kit, clear aligners, and a set of retainers, and with our easy payment plan you pay £739 down payment and 12 monthly installments of £110.00, totaling £1399.

How quickly will you see results?

One of the main reasons so many people are choosing clear aligners is that they align your teeth much quicker than traditional braces. A lot of patients see results after two to three months of wearing them, which shows how effective they can be. Your perfect smile can be achieved in a short amount of time, anywhere between 4 to 6 months depending on how crowded your teeth are or how mild your spacing issues are.

Nighttime aligners

Our NightOnly clear aligners act essentially as night braces, offering a more convenient option for straightening your teeth. Nighttime aligners only need to be worn for around 10 hours during the night while you sleep, meaning you can crack on with your daily routine as normal.

How much do NightOnly clear aligners cost?

As with our regular clear aligners, we offer two affordable payment options to suit your budget; NightAdvantage and the NightFlex Easy. NightAdvantage is a one-time payment plan and our most affordable option out of the two. You pay £1299 and receive the impression kit, NightOnly clear aligners, and a set of retainers. Our second option, the NightFlex Easy, allows you to put a down payment of £799 and an easy installment plan of £125.00 for 12 months, which totals £1549.

How quickly will you see results?

With night time aligners, it can take longer to see your desired results as you wear them for less time than you would with regular clear aligners. As you are only wearing night time aligners for an average of 10 hours a night, the treatment can take around 6 to 8 months to achieve your perfect smile.

Things you should consider when choosing aligners

May cause some discomfort

Whether you choose to get regular clear aligners or night time aligners, you need to remember that although they are made to fit snug and be as comfortable as they possibly can, it is still a procedure that is straightening your teeth so you may feel some discomfort at first. The aligners are gently forcing your teeth together to make them straighter, but once you get used to having them in your mouth the pain will start to subside.

You may experience a feeling that your teeth are loose when wearing your aligners, but this is perfectly normal as your teeth are moving closer together. Try not to worry as this feeling is to be expected, but if you do have any concerns we are always on hand to help put your worries at ease.

Overall you may feel some pain when wearing your aligners but each person is different and it does depend on the level of adjusting that your teeth need to do, as well as your pain tolerance.

Changes to your speech

You may notice a change in your speech when wearing daytime clear aligners. It’s important to remember that the trays are slightly bigger than your teeth, and you will need to adjust to them being in your mouth.

When wearing daytime aligners you may notice that you have a slight lisp at first, but this is not a big concern as your speech will go back to normal when you take the trays out. If you find yourself getting flustered because of the lisp, work out which words or letters are causing this and practice saying these words at home within the first few weeks of wearing your aligners to help clear it up.

If you think that this could be a concern, you may want to consider choosing night time aligners to avoid changes to your speech.

Schedule when to eat and drink

When choosing aligners a big factor to consider is food and drink. If you choose regular clear aligners, you will need to wear them for around 22 hours a day which gives you 2 hours without them in your mouth, so you may need to schedule in when to eat and drink. The more time you have the aligners in your mouth, the better as you will see the results quicker and it gives the aligners time to work.

Another thing you should consider when choosing aligners is when it comes to eating and drinking, you will have to get into a new routine. As you need to keep the regular clear aligners in your mouth for the majority of the time, you need to eat and drink a lot quicker. For some people, this might not be an issue but if you are a slow eater, this is something you will have to get used to.

However, if you choose NightOnly aligners, maintenance is minimal and you don’t have to worry about taking them out when you want to eat and drink.

Improve oral hygiene

We all know how important it is to brush your teeth for two minutes of a morning and of a night, using a quality fluoride toothpaste and a decent toothbrush. But when it comes to getting aligners, you will need to step up your oral hygiene game.

You will need to look after your aligners and maintain them as best as you can. With day time aligners, you will be putting them in your mouth for long periods, day after day, so you will need to keep them thoroughly clean. Brush your aligners gently with a toothbrush to ensure they stay fresh and clean. If you don’t look after them properly, not only are you risking damage to your teeth but it can affect the quality of the teeth straightening process.

If you opt for night time aligners, keep them clean and safe by putting them in a case.

The difference between day time aligners and night time aligners

Both our regular and NightOnly clear aligners are convenient, comfortable, and affordable. There are a lot of similarities between the two and both will help you achieve your perfect, dream smile. But both aligners have different advantages and disadvantages, which may help you decide which ones are best for you.

How long you wear them

The biggest difference between regular clear aligners and NightOnly clear aligners is the duration in which you will wear them. With day time aligners, you will be wearing these for the majority of the day and night, a total of 22 hours. Whereas with the nighttime aligners, you will only wear them around 10 hours and this will be during the night as you sleep.

The time it takes to see results

If you choose the regular clear aligners, you are required to wear them longer throughout the day but it does help speed up the time it takes to see results. You can start to see results anywhere from 4 to 6 months. With our NightOnly clear aligners, the time is cut in half as you wear them less during the day. This means you may start to see results in about 6-8 months.

How much aligners cost

A slight difference between the two aligners is the cost. We offer low, affordable prices for both our NightOnly clear aligners and our regular clear aligners. The nighttime aligners cost a fraction more than the daytime aligners but we do have two payment plan options for both.

For our NightOnly clear aligners, you can either choose:

  • NightAdvantage option – pay a one-time payment of £1299
  • NightFlex Easy option – a down payment of £799 and £125.00/mo for 12 months (£1549 in total)

For our regular clear aligners, you can either choose:

  • SmileAdvantage option – pay a one-time payment of £1199
  • SmileFlex Easy option – a down payment of £739 and £110.00/mo for 12 months (£1399 in total)

Overall difference

We’ve discussed the three main differences between the aligners, but here are a few other things we should point out is that you will need to remember to take your day time aligners out when eating or drinking and to put them back in when you have finished. Whereas with night time aligners, this won’t be an issue as you won’t be wearing them during the day. As you will only wear NightOnly aligners at night, no one will know you are wearing them making them the more discreet option of the two.

How to choose aligners based on your lifestyle needs

There is no right or wrong option when it comes to choosing aligners. What might work for one person, may not work for another. This is why it’s important that you pick the most suitable aligners for your lifestyle needs.

If you want straight teeth and your dream smile as quickly as possible, then perhaps the regular clear aligners are the best option for you. This may require you to alter your lifestyle accordingly to ensure that the aligners are most effective.

If you would prefer to not have your daily routine interrupted and you don’t mind that the treatment may take a little longer before the results start to show, then the NightOnly aligners are the perfect choice for you. These are a great convenient option for anyone who is feeling self-conscious about wearing aligners, or for those with misalignments that aren’t too bad and only require a short amount of treatment time.

Whether you opt for day time or night time aligners, we hope that your journey to the perfect smile is comfortable and stress-free. If you have any questions about either of our aligner treatments, do get in touch as we are always happy to offer our advice.
